In first grade Jessica's teacher determined her future would involve telling stories, and years later she accepted that destiny. Receiving her BA in English Literature with minors in both writing and history from the University of Central Florida, Jessica went on to join the prestigious ranks of the publishing industry. She cut her teeth working in sales at Simon & Schuster before setting her sights – and heart – on the editorial side of the business. For three years Jessica worked for Atheneum Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Division. Chasing her fate, her life's work is designing stories for kids who, like her, find friends within the pages of books. Currently she lives in Brooklyn with her rescue pup Josie, and can be found petting strangers’ dogs if they let her.
